Kurt Schultz caught footage of a male baboon who stole a lion cub from its pride and took it back into the tree troops to groom it. The footage is remarkably similar to the famous moment from the Disney movie “Lion King”.
In the video, the adult baboon is seen sitting in a tree as the sun shines on them.
When he turns around, it’s revealed that he’s holding a lion cub in his hands.
Unfortunately, the lion cub is clearly distressed and is crying out and trying to free himself.
It doesn’t seem that the Baboon was hurting the dog, unfortunately, the cub was stressed.
The cub is still alive and the “female” baboon is literally grooming it. Its an unusual sighting – first of its kind for me.’
The baboon then readjusts the young lion before it begins to trek through the trees while carrying the cub under its arms. The Baboon then sits down to comb through the cub’s finger.
